Discover Rob's Seafoods & Burgers

Tucked away at 104 W Seltice Way in Post Falls, Idaho, Rob's Seafoods & Burgers feels like the kind of small-town diner where everyone knows your name-or at least your favorite order. The scent of sizzling patties and fried halibut wafts through the air before you even step inside, promising something honest and satisfying. It’s a place that proves you don’t need white tablecloths or fine dining prices to enjoy seriously good seafood.

On my first visit, I ordered the halibut basket with fries, a recommendation from a local fisherman I met nearby. The fish came out golden, perfectly crisp, and flaky on the inside-a sign that the kitchen knows how to handle seafood right. According to the National Fisheries Institute, over 80% of consumers judge seafood freshness by texture and aroma, and Rob’s delivers both in spades. The flavor reminded me of dockside meals in coastal towns, even though Post Falls is miles from the ocean. That’s the charm of a place like this-they bring the coast to Idaho with heart and a hot fryer.

The menu strikes a balance between land and sea. While seafood lovers can dive into clam strips, shrimp, and cod baskets, burger enthusiasts aren’t left out. The double cheeseburger, stacked high with melty cheese and crisp lettuce, could rival any burger joint in the region. Each dish feels thoughtfully made, as if the cooks care about every order that leaves the kitchen window. It’s no wonder locals mention Rob’s in glowing online reviews, praising the friendly staff and the consistency of their meals.

Having tried dozens of diners across the Northwest, I can say that what sets Rob’s apart isn’t just its food-it’s the experience. The moment you walk in, there’s an easy rhythm between the staff and regulars. Orders are taken quickly, conversations drift between tables, and before long, someone’s sharing tips on which menu items are freshly added that week. This kind of warm familiarity is rare, and it builds a trust that big restaurant chains often miss.

Food critics and hospitality experts often point out that community-driven eateries thrive on relationships, not marketing. According to the National Restaurant Association, over 60% of customers return to establishments where they feel personally recognized. At Rob’s, that’s almost guaranteed. Whether you’re dining in or picking up a to-go order, you’re treated like more than just a ticket number.

What also impressed me was the transparency around ingredients. When I asked about the fish sourcing, the manager proudly explained that they partner with reputable suppliers who prioritize freshness and sustainability. It’s this honesty that adds another layer of trustworthiness. While it might not carry the prestige of a coastal seafood house, the flavor integrity and attention to detail make it clear the team knows their craft.

I’ve noticed how locals often describe Rob’s as a “hidden gem,” and that’s exactly how it feels. Families stop by after games, workers grab lunch during breaks, and travelers passing through are pleasantly surprised by the quality tucked behind a modest storefront. Even the casual décor-the checkered tables, handwritten specials board, and soft hum of chatter-adds to its charm. It’s the kind of atmosphere that invites you to linger just a bit longer, maybe with a milkshake or an extra side of fries.

Good food connects people, and in places like Rob’s, it also connects stories. Each visit feels like part of a bigger community narrative-a blend of tradition, comfort, and local pride. The diner’s enduring popularity isn’t accidental; it’s earned through years of consistent quality and genuine hospitality. So whether you’re craving a perfectly fried halibut sandwich or a juicy classic burger, this Post Falls favorite deserves a spot on your list the next time you’re in town.

  • This, old school, restaurant has been serving fish and chips since the 60's !! Truly one of the northwest, no frill5, great food, and a time tested recipe for great seafood. We had the combo, you should too!! #Nofeardining

  • Fast and friendly service. Clean restaurant, clean restrooms. The food comes out in a matter of minutes from ordering, piping hot and fresh. The burgers, fish and chips, and chowder evoke memories of eating a homemade meal at grandma's house. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming with a vintage flair. These prices can't be beat for the size and quality of the food.

  • You know I like a place when I mention they are not trying to be anything they are not. This is a burger and fish & chip place. The products they are using are not farm-to-table. But they have got it down--very well--how to put it all together hot, fresh-ish, and for prices you are not used to in 2024. Everything we had was great. C'mon, think about it. This is a place you might rave about, paying twice as much, if it was in a coastal, el touristo town. But here we are 300 clicks inland, huh? It was busy on a Tue lunch. But they still found time to smile while that griddle/fryer is cranking out the bad-good food. We really, really liked this place; and, that is beyond having two ravenous 20-something sons with us, and the frugality factor. Dang it, I want to know what food service provider the are getting their stuff from...

  • This little gem is by far my favorite burger place in the region. In fact, I refuse to get burgers anywhere else unless I make them myself. When you walk in, the place is super clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are spotless, the tables are wiped down and you aren't hit with a disgusting fryer smell when you walk through the door. The staff are always kind, polite and sporting a great attitude. No matter what day of the week you go, the service is consistently excellent. The burgers just absolutely hit the spot for when you just want a good old fashioned American burger. They're simple, effective, delicious and are exactly what burgers were designed to be. No extra junk or fancy schmancy options. Oh and it doesn't break the bank for a burger like other places. At other places you pay 17 bucks for a burger soaked in grease that tastes like diabetes and heart disease, meanwhile here at Robs you pay only 5 bucks for a good old fashioned, tasty American burger. Oh and the fries are absolutely done right, no competition. They keep it simple yet effective through and through. In conclusion, this place is my favorite burger joint and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been there yet. In fact I like it so much, I even bought one of their t-shirts.

  • This place is awesome. Talk about your local hometown burger joint. I had a bacon cheeseburger with double patty. Fricking delicious. Fries were fresh and crisp and hot and perfectly crunchy. The service was even better, bringing food out to the table and checking up on ya. It's got a fun local vibe to it and you are treated like family when ya come in.
